I'm impressed with quality of the Horizon Air. Folds very easily and the seat, with the battery, removes in seconds making it light enough for me to lift into my car. I also like the controls letting me use either hand with a separate knob for forward and reverse. Turn signals are a plus.

I recently took the Horizon Air folding mobility scooter on a trip to Paris, and it exceeded my expectations. My biggest concern was air travel, but the Horizon Air made the entire process remarkably easy. It folds quickly and compactly, making it simple to gate-check before boarding. Upon arrival, it was waiting for me on the jetway, and unfolding it took just seconds. The seat & battery came on board with me and easily fit in the overhead bins. Once in Paris, I used the scooter extensively in airports, museums, cafés, public transportation, and sightseeing areas. If I was in a crowded restaurant, I simply folded the scooter and tucked it in a corner. The battery life was excellent—I never found myself worrying about running out of power during a full day of exploring. What impressed me most was how lightweight and travel-friendly it is. Unlike many mobility scooters that feel bulky or medical, the Horizon Air has a sleek design and is easy to maneuver through crowded spaces. It came with a generously sized basket which safely stored items under my seat. As someone living with MS, I often have to choose carefully where I spend my energy. The Horizon Air allowed me to spend that energy exploring Paris instead of simply getting from place to place—and that's exactly what I was hoping it would do!

Very pleased - Unpacked alone

Very pleased. I was in a wheelchair and was able to get it going alone. Someone did assist getting it inside. Surprised by the speed. Able to get around the house very nicely. Will adventure out soon. So far so good.

This scooter is exactly what I needed

This scooter is exactly what I needed. I wanted a scooter to make traveling easier, navigating airports, etc. I set out on my first trip 2 weeks ago. The getting the right tags process was fast and easy thanks to United ticket agents. I was able to dismount plane side, fold up the scooter, I placed the seat in a separate duffle bag (made it easier for the United attendants to handle/stow), then the battery with me in my carry on. When I landed the scooter was ready to be assembled (attach seat and battery) and off up the jetway I went. The Horizon Air is a game changer for me. Chicago O'hare is huge but getting around was a breeze. Now I did attach Apple Air Tag trackers to each scooter and seat so I knew they were onboard my flight.

Horizon Air and my independence

Simple buying experience and the Horizon Air shipped and arrived as support said it would. The box was well packaged and the Horizon Air came assembled. Everything is as I expected... lightweight, foldable, sturdy, easy battery access, decent seat height and looks great. Can't wait to take this on vacation this Summer.

Great travel scooter

I got my Horizon Air last week and brought it this week on my cruise from Philly to Bermuda. I love how light this is. It’s about the weight of two 19lb kitty litter boxes. So it’s slightly heavy for me to get into trunk, as I have progressive MS with balance/walking issues mainly. I have to take the seat/battery off to make it lighter. I have a larger sedan and it just fits in my trunk with no seat on it. It has 4 wheels, so assume not great turning radius. But you get better stability over 3 wheels. It’s speedy on speed 3. It also turns heads, as I’ve had lots of people ask me about it on my first day out on the ship on it. Mainly, people ask me where the battery is located. Hard to spot compared to competitors I suppose. My negative on it is the reverse function, the manual turn dial to go into reverse is a bit annoying. Should be on hand peddles. Overall I really like its folding design, decently lighter than others I read about, and it looks cool.

Horizon Air appears very sturdy and well made

Horizon Air appears very sturdy and well made. The scooter folds up easily and fit behind the seat in my mini van. This scooter is too heavy for me being closer to 50lbs. Each time I contacted Direct Mobility USA, I had very quick response. They worked with me to return this scooter and replace it with the Freedom Rover which is lighter weight and a more streamline design.

Light-weight, travel friendly, and looks great!

I am so glad I bought this scooter. I have POTS and undiagnosed muscle pain & weakness (probably ME/CFS) and this is my first purchase of a mobility scooter. I am 23 years old, so it has been hard to accept that I need to use mobility aids, but the Horizon Air has been such a great purchase so far. I’ve only had it less than a week, but I’ve already been able to use it to go get lunch with some friends, where I probably wouldn’t have been able to go otherwise. The design, especially the color, make me feel more confident using a mobility aid in public as a young person. It is also light enough that I am able to put it into/take it out of my car by myself. It’s really easy to remove the seat so it is lighter. The folding is incredibly easy. It does not require too much effort to fold up or unfold. It is so convenient and easy to use. The fact that the battery is in the seat makes it really easy to take it out because you don’t have to bend down. I also love the horn so much, I think it’s so funny and cute - it just makes me happy. Also, the customer service is amazing. I ordered the wrong color and the support team made it so quick and easy to exchange the color to what I wanted. Overall, if you’re looking for a light-weight, travel friendly mobility scooter that also looks good, I highly recommend the Horizon Air.

Perfect for going to appointments

Perfect for going to appointments. Instead of him shuffling trying to walk, it saves a lot of time and anxiety if he will trip. It is heavier than I expected and taking off the seat is inconvenient but still worth it. It would be nice if the front wheels could lock so the handles could be leaned on to get up and down but they turn so be careful. The rubber yellow cover on the front handle is not attached well and have to keep putting it on. One other thing I would suggest is to make the front fender out of more flexible rubber. He catches his foot on it and I'm afraid he will break it off. But other than those few items, it is a good scooter to drive one-handed!

Horizon Air great for hilly, urban neighborhood

Got my Horizon Air a week ago and am quite happy with it. It arrived well-packed and undamaged. The automated announcements were loud, so I followed the directions in the manual to turn them off. The manual could use some editing, by the way. I've riden the scooter onto the Metro train, through the halls and elevators of my high-rise condo, on crowded, hilly sidewalks, into a restaurant and grocery store, and over a grassy field for a soccer game (as a spectator). It passes these tests with top marks. I only wish it had a backup mirror, as reversing out elevators and trains is a little disconcerting. Also, I would prefer the speed to be continuous, since the #2 speed is too fast for my walking companion, and #1 is too slow. The automatic braking when you release the control bar is a great safety feature. But I would prefer separate throttle and hand brakes like on an e-bike so you could fine-tune the speed. I've also folded it and stowed it in the car. It is too heavy for me if I leave the seat/battery on, so I removed that and was able to lift the scooter into the car. The little yellow lever to lock/unlock from the folded position is not labeled well and didn't work easily for me at first. But after trying it several times, I got the hang of it. The scooter has a hidden lever used to free the wheels for pushing, but it is inaccessible for me without getting on hands and knees. Instead I use the N (neutral) speed setting and then hold the control bar to free the wheels for pushing. I don't like the emergency stop button placement. I accidently hit it several times. You must turn the scooter off and on after it is triggered. That takes too long when, for example, you hit it accidently in a crosswalk. Overall, very satisfied!

Easy to fold and put in the car

We just received our Horizon Air. For some reason, FEDEX held it in the local warehouse for 5 days before delivering, but getting it unpacked and set-up was easy. My wife is the user and she was able to understand the controls and start riding in the neighborhood easily. I was pleased that it goes up and down grades well and with great control on the downhill portions. My only issue is that I have not mastered the skill of changing the volume so the scooter is still shouting every time it is put in reverse. The important stuff including battery performance and charging speed is great. I can fold it easily and lift it into the trunk of the car and that was my initial reason for picking the Horizon Air.

So far I am loving this scooter!

So far I am loving this scooter. It is light and manageable for someone with physical disabilities like myself as well as the battery has good longevity for the long hours that I spend at theme parks. I think there are a couple areas where the scooter could be improved: 1st, the seat needs like another half inch of padding to make it more comfortable. After spending nearly 10 hours on my scooter the first day I was quite sore the next day from sitting on that seat. Another thing I feel this scooter is missing compared to other scooters I’ve had is the speedometer just to know how fast I’m going. It’s definitely not a dealbreaker, but I found myself very fixated on the percentage of battery throughout the day and it would’ve been nice to have a different option to look at. Overall, this is a great scooter. The battery only lost about 50% during the 10 hour day at the theme park. There were some metal shavings that I noticed while I was packing the scooter back up from underneath and I’m not exactly sure where those are coming from, but it look like where the handlebars were screwed in. It was like part of the bolt that was holding it down below. Probably related to just movement and it be new and the parts were still settling?
